چکیده

This Chapter reviews the theory of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) in quasione-dimensional (Q1D) conductors. It is primarily based on the author’s papers [1,2,3,4]. The QHE in Q1D conductors is closely related to the magneticfield-induced spin-density wave (FISDW) observed in these materials. The theory of the FISDW is reviewed in this book by L. Gor’kov, by M. Héritier, by A. Lebed, and by S. Haddad et al. The FISDW experiment is reviewed by P. Chaikin et al. and by V. Pudalov and A. Kornilov.

Temperature Evolution of the Quantum Hall Effect in Quasi-One-Dimensional Organic Conductors

The Hall conductivity in the magnetic-field-induced spin-density-wave (FISDW) state of the quasi-onedimensional organic conductors (TMTSF)2X at a finite temperature is calculated. The temperature dependence of the Hall conductivity is found to be the same as the temperature dependence of the Fröhlich current of a regular charge/spin-density wave. Predicted dependence σxy(T ) can be verified exp...

شبیه سازی اثر بی نظمی و میدان مغناطیسی بر ترابرد کوانتومی نانوساختارهای دو بعدی مدل شده با تقریب تنگابست

In recent years, semiconductor nanostructures have become the model systems of choice for investigation of electrical conduction on short length scales. Quantum transport is studied in a two dimensional electron gas because of the combination of a large Fermi wavelength and large mean free path. In the present work, a numerical method is implemented in order to contribute to the understanding ...

Quantum Hall effect anomaly and collective modes in the magnetic-field-induced spin-density-wave phases of quasi-one-dimensional conductors

We study the collective modes in the magnetic-field-induced spin-density-wave (FISDW) phases experimentally observed in organic conductors of the Bechgaard salts family. In phases that exhibit a sign reversal of the quantum Hall effect (Ribault anomaly), the coexistence of two spin-density waves gives rise to additional long wavelength collective modes besides the Goldstone modes due to spontan...

Sign Reversal of the Quantum Hall Effect and Helicoidal Magnetic-field-induced Spin-density Waves in Organic Conductors

Within the framework of the quantized nesting model, we study the effect of umklapp scattering on the magnetic-field-induced spin-density-wave (SDW) phases which are experimentally observed in the quasi-one-dimensional organic conductors (TMTSF)2X. We discuss the conditions under which umklapp processes may explain the sign reversals (Ribault anomaly) of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) observed i...

Quantum Hall Effect in Quasi-One-Dimensional Conduc- tors: The Roles of Moving FISDW, Finite Temperature, and Edge States

— This paper reviews recent developments in the theory of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) in the magnetic-field-induced spin-density-wave (FISDW) state of the quasi-one-dimensional organic conductors (TMTSF)2X. The origin and the basic features of the FISDW are reviewed. The QHE in the pinned FISDW state is derived in several simple, transparent ways, including the edge states formulation of the ...
